Winter Storm Fern is expected to impact our Gainesville area starting Sunday night into Tuesday bringing freezing rain, sleet, and snow. We are preparing for potential impacts on our system caused by power outages and tree damage due to ice. Liberty is dedicated to providing safe and reliable service to all of the communities we serve and we are taking steps to ensure customers stay safe and warm throughout the storm.
Liberty has implemented its winter storm process focused on critical risk areas to ensure the safety of its employees and the public during the storm. We are also focused on making sure we keep the gas flowing. We continue to monitor the latest weather forecast throughout the day to make sure we are prepared to respond as needed as conditions change.
To improve the reliability of our service, Liberty has replaced a significant portion of its system to minimize pipeline constraints. However, due to the broad impact of Winter Storm Fern across multiple states, the demand upstream of Georgia could cause pipeline interruptions. Although the likelihood of this happening is low, we must prepare for the possibility. If interruption or curtailment becomes necessary, customers will be notified immediately.
Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns and stay safe during this extremely cold weather.
